Emergency snow route

Parking restrictions are in effect for Sioux City's emergency snow routes.

SIOUX CITY -- In anticipation of an aggressive snowstorm making its way to Siouxland on Saturday, Sioux City Mayor Bob Scott has declared a snow emergency, effective at 2 a.m. Saturday.

During a snow emergency, vehicles are not allowed to be parked on emergency snow route streets. Emergency snow route streets are designated by blue signs with a snowflake.

Residents are advised to park on the even side of the street on even days of the month after 7 a.m. until 7 a.m. the following day. Vehicles should be parked on the odd street numbered side of the street on odd days of the month during the same time period.

Because Saturday (April 14) is an even day, residents should park on the even side of the street. Vehicles must be moved to the odd side of the street on Sunday (April 15) at 7 a.m.

No parking is permitted on the side of the street where parking is prohibited. Residents are encouraged to remove vehicles from on street parking where possible.
