SIOUX CITY | A new monthly gathering will allow Sioux Cityans to reminisce about their experiences from the city's past.
Titled "Mornings at the Museum," the new free discussion series will launch this month and allow those in attendance to share memories over a cup of coffee.
The inaugural March 14 event will take place 9:15 to 10 a.m. Archives manager Tom Munson will lead a discussion on coffee and donut shops. Attendees can bring photographs or memorabilia related to the topic that will further the discussion.
"Studies show one of the primary motivators for visiting a museum is to socialize," Theresa Weaver-Basye, the museum's curator of education, said in a news release. "Our goal is to encourage more dialogue about local history."
The conversations will focus on a different topic each month. April's discussion will cover local elementary schools.
