SIOUX CITY -- A truck driver was injured Friday morning after his semi left the roadway and ended up on its side.
Sioux City Police Sergeant Jim Cunningham said that the incident, which happened shortly after 10 a.m. Friday morning on Highway 20 near South Lakeport Street, was believed to have been caused at least partly by rainfall.
"The semi was traveling westbound on Highway 20, as it was coming around the curve, driver advised that he lost control of the vehicle" due to rain on the roadway. The truck came to rest about 50 feet away from the roadway, on its side.
The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, and was cited for failure to maintain control.
