SIOUX CITY | The Girls of '68 are scheduled to hold a memorial ceremony honoring Sioux City’s first white settler and a Sioux Indian chief on Saturday.
The ceremony will include placement of wreaths on Theophile Bruguier and War Eagle’s graves.
The event is 10:30 a.m. at grave sites in War Eagle Park on War Eagle Drive.
An address recognizing the legacy of the men in Sioux City's history will be given by Tom Munson, of the Sioux City Public Museum.
Following the service, Bruguier's Cabin in Riverside Park, 1301 Riverside Blvd., will be open to the public. Additional opportunities to view the cabin will be 1-3 p.m. on the second Sunday in June, July, and August.
