SIOUX CITY -- The City of Sioux City Engineering Department has announced upcoming traffic adjustments in conjunction with the West Seventh Street reconstruction project.
Beginning Wednesday, West Seventh Street east and west of Hamilton Boulevard will be closed to traffic, to allow the existing traffic signals at that intersection to be replaced. A detour route will be posted at West Eighth Street for east and west traffic.
SIOUX CITY | The stretch of West Seventh Street between Wesley Parkway and Market Street, at times, resembles a war zone.
The reconstruction of West Seventh will continue from Sioux Street to Hamilton Boulevard, with the project expected to be completed in the fall. Along with the roadway and sidewalks, city utilities -- including sewer, water, storm sewer and fiber optic lines -- will be replaced.
The project has features intended to boost walkability and support economic growth, including various aesthetic enhancements.
