SIOUX CITY -- One person was hospitalized after a Friday night stabbing incident in Sioux City.
According to a press release from the Sioux City Police Department, officers responded to the area of 17th Street and Ingleside Avenue at around 10:54 p.m. Friday night for a reported injured person.
Officers found 20-year-old Aaron Smith unconscious and bleeding from an apparent stab wound. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Officers executed a search warrant at 909 17th St. and found 18-year-old Anthony Medina of Sioux City. Medina was interviewed and charged with attempted murder, a class B Felony.
He is currently being held in the Woodbury County Jail.
The investigation into the details of the assault is ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
