LAKE PARK, Iowa | A Spencer, Iowa, woman died Saturday when she pulled away from a stop sign and into the path of another car, the Iowa State Patrol said in a report.
Beverly Steuben, 80, was stopped in a 1999 Buick, facing south on County Road M27 at Iowa Highway 9, when she pulled out and was struck on the driver's side by a westbound 2000 Chevrolet driven by Kayla Foushee, 23, of Ocheyden, Iowa, the report said.
Steuben was not wearing a seat belt, the report said. She died at the scene.
Foushee was taken by private vehicle to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The accident happened at 3:04 p.m., according to the report.
