Body of man found in Sioux City sent to medical examiner for positive identification

SIOUX CITY -- The body of a man discovered by police on Monday has been sent to the Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office in Ankeny, Sioux City Police Lt. Chris Groves said.

Emergency personnel discovered the body in a wooded area near 14th and Helen Streets on Sioux City's east side, Monday afternoon. 

Groves said the body was slightly decomposed due to the summertime heat. 

Autopsy now done on 16-month-old who died after left in Sioux City vehicle

Foul play is not suspected in the man's death and police are waiting for the results of an autopsy to confirm his identity.
