PENDER, Neb. | An Emerson, Nebraska, woman has been sentenced to up to four years in prison for stealing at least $100,000 from her employer.
Hollie Koopman, 36, pleaded guilty in August in Thurston County District Court to single counts of theft by unlawful taking and theft by deception. She was sentenced Wednesday to 16-48 months in prison. District Judge John Samson also ordered her to pay $100,000 in restitution by transferring and assigning her 100 shares of stock in Emerson Manufacturing Inc., of Pender, Nebraska.
According to court documents, Koopman wrote a number of checks on Emerson Manufacturing's account and also used a company credit card to pay her credit card debt and other personal expenses.
