SIOUX CITY -- A Le Mars, Iowa, man has pleaded not guilty to threatening a woman with a knife and taking her purse.
Kenneth Azure, 24, entered his written plea Friday in Woodbury County District Court to one count of first-degree robbery.

According to court documents, the woman was a passenger in a car driven by Azure on May 7. Azure drove the car to the area of 1900 West 19th Street in Sioux City and began arguing with the woman before stopping the car and pulling the woman out by her hair. Court documents said that Azure punched the woman in the face four to six times, then held a knife to her throat and took her purse, which contained $280 in cash, medication and her cellphone.
Azure was arrested on May 9.
