SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa -- A Sheldon, Iowa, man has pleaded not guilty to robbing a Spirit Lake man at gunpoint.
Brandon Bebon, 19, entered his written plea Friday in Dickinson County District Court to first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, going armed with intent and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
According to court documents, Bebon entered a trailer home in the 1500 block of Memphis Aveue in Spirit Lake on March 7 with a .22-caliber handgun and ordered the male occupant to "empty his pockets and give him everything he had."
Police stopped Bebon and Samuel Stoller a short time later in a Mercedes-Benz matching the description of a vehicle involved in the incident. Stoller is charged with aiding and abetting Bebon by driving Bebon to and from the scene.
Police found both men in possession of marijuana and methamphetamine, and Stoller had .22-caliber rounds in the car and in his pants pocket. Officers discovered the handgun had been stolen from Stoller's father, court documents said.
Stoller, 26, of Spirit Lake, faces the same charges as Bebon and has yet to enter a plea.
