Sioux City police search for robbery suspect

SIOUX CITY | Police were searching for a man accused of a robbery in downtown Sioux City on Friday afternoon.

The alleged crime was reported at 2:30 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Transportation Center, 501 Nebraska St.

A man told police he was robbed in a stairwell on the third floor after the suspect put him in a headlock and threatened to stab him. The suspect did not display a knife and it’s unknown if he actually had one, police said.

No injuries were reported. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

The suspect was described as a 6-foot, 1-inch tall Native American man in his 20s. He was last seen wearing a black coat and blue hat. -- Ally Karsyn
