SIOUX CITY | A Sioux City woman who stabbed a man on Pierce Street was placed on probation Wednesday.
District Judge Duane Hoffmeyer suspended a five-year prison sentence and ordered Brittany Lapora to serve two years on probation.
A Woodbury County District Court jury in November found Brittany Lapora, 24, guilty of willful injury causing bodily injury.
The jury found Lapora guilty of stabbing William Bauerly, 75, in the side on Aug. 14 while she sat in the passenger seat of a vehicle at 1373 Pierce St. The injuries were not life-threatening.
Lapora fled and was apprehended a short time later.
Lapora may be ordered to pay restitution to Bauerly in an amount yet to be determined.
