STORM LAKE, Iowa -- A 23-year-old Storm Lake man was arrested Friday on three different charges of delivering a controlled substance, each being class C felonies.

Storm Lake Police stopped Everardo Manriquez-Mendoza driving in the 1500 block of East Lakeshore Drive. Officers knew he didn't have a driver's license and had valid warrants issued for his arrest.

After officers initiated a traffic stop, Manriquez-Mendoza pulled into a parking lot and fled on foot. He was subsequently apprehended without further incident.

Transported to the Buena Vista County Jail, Manriguez-Mendoza was charged with driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor. Manriquez-Mendoza was further charged on the felony charges that were the result of three separate methamphetamine purchases he allegedly made between Jan. 1 and March 29, 2018, in Storm Lake.

Manriguez-Mendoza was booked and held on a $12,000 bond.
