SHELDON, Iowa — An employee of the Sheldon Golf & Country Club died Monday after an accident at the facility.

According to multiple media reports, at about 9:30 a.m. an unnamed employee was operating a tractor near the eighth hole when it veered into the Floyd River, which runs through the nine-hole golf course.

He was found face down in the body of water after an unknown amount of time.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office plans to release more information on the incident -- including the victim's name -- sometime Tuesday.
