IDA GROVE, Iowa | Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey will reach a notable mark Monday when he holds events in three Northwest Iowa cities and completes his goal of visiting all 99 counties in 2017.
Northey's office on Friday announced that he will meet Monday with community leaders in Pocahontas, tour GOMACO Corp. in Ida Grove and visit Lewis and Clark State Park in Onawa.
A grain farmer from Spirit Lake, Northey is in the midst of his third, four-year term as ag secretary. He is continuing his state duties while awaiting word on his Senate confirmation as undersecretary for farm production and conservation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
On Monday at 2:30 p.m., Northey will tour GOMACO, at 121 E. Hwy 175, in Ida Grove. Next will be a 4:30 p.m. appearance at Lewis and Clark State Park, 21914 Park Loop, in Onawa.
