Sioux City receives award for business retention, expansion project

SIOUX CITY | Sioux City's Economic Development Department has received an award from Professional Developers of Iowa (PDI) for its efforts on the Bomgaars Supply, Inc., expansion project.

The award was presented to Mayor Bob Scott and other city officials at the Iowa Economic Development SMART Conference Thursday in Des Moines.

The Bomgaars expansion project represents a capital investment of over $17 million. The new facility will retain 177 existing employees and initially create 15 additional jobs.

The PRI Business Retention and Expansion Awards Program recognizes the efforts of local and regional economic development initiatives in supporting growth and expansion of existing companies.
