SIOUX CITY | Thunderstorms could roll into Sioux City during the afternoon and evening hours today, as the area sits under a marginal risk for severe weather.
Chances will begin around 3 p.m. but increase around 5 p.m., said Meteorologist Janice Maldonado with the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls.
"It will be on and off," she said.
While the increased risk of severe weather lies to the south, Maldonado said she couldn't rule out the chance for storms with hail and damaging winds. Sioux City can expect about a half-inch of rainfall, she said.
Today's high will be 83 degrees, dropping to a low of 60 overnight.
Conditions will remain in the low to mid 80s over the weekend, with highs of 80 and 82 on Friday and Saturday, increasing to 86 on Sunday.
Monday's high will be 83, with a 60 percent chance of rain.
