SIOUX CITY | An Iowa man has died in a one-vehicle wreck in Kansas.
The Kansas State Patrol in a crash report said Jake Roos, 19, of Ashton, Iowa, died Friday in a one-vehicle incident four miles west of Phillipsburg, in Phillips County, Kansas, on Highway U36. Roos was not wearing a seat belt.
His vehicle was westbound on the highway, crossed the center line, entered a ditch, struck a guard rail, hit an embankment and came to rest in the bottom of a creek, at about 2 a.m. Friday.
Roos was traveling from Iowa to Stockton, Kansas, to pick up a load of cattle. He was pulling a trailer with a Ford F350 pickup.
