SIBLEY, Iowa | All the hogs carried in a truck were killed in a rollover wreck north of Sibley on Iowa Highway 9.

The Osceola County Sheriff on Friday reported the wreck occurred Tuesday morning, as Blake Reis, 26, of Hartley, Iowa, was driving a 2005 Peterbilt semi west on Highway 9 and swerved to miss a cow in the road.

The semi tipped over, landing partially on the road and ditch. Reis was transported to the Osceola Community Hospital with possible injuries.

The trailer was full of pigs, all of which were killed, at an estimated loss of $30,000. The semi and trailer were completely destroyed, for an estimated loss of $145,000.

The cow owned by Ernest Gradert of Sibley was also killed.
