David Miner, 60, of South Sioux City, died Friday, June 8, 2018.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mohr Funeral Home, 1431 W. 29th St. in South Sioux City. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
David was born on July 2, 1957, to John and Goldie Nelson. As a young boy, he spent time in the old Boys and Girls Home in Grandview Park in the early 1960s. In 1968, he went to live with Bob and Betty Miner of Wakefield, Neb. In early 1970, he moved to Boys Town in Omaha.
In 1973, he joined the U.S. Navy.
He had one son, David, from a previous marriage. Later, he met Judy Cain and they married. They raised two daughters, Brandy and Mary.
He worked on the road sandblasting and painting for 34 years.
David is survived by his wife, Judy; son, David; daughter, Mary; three grandsons, Tyler, Kolby and Skyler; one granddaughter, Braelynn; one great-grandson, Bentley; four great-granddaughters, Kimberlynn, Ireland, Savannah and Harlee; and three stepgrandchildren, Josh, Jason and Jordan Kleider.
David was preceded in death by his brother, Vernie Miner; sister, Helen Banks; brother, Dale Jorgensen; daughter, Brandy Robertson; and grandson, Joseph.
