Irene M. (Love) Harris, 91, of Homer, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at the Pender Hospital in Pender, Neb.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City. Burial will be in Omaha Valley Cemetery in rural Homer. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
Irene was born on April 13, 1927, in rural Jackson, Neb., the daughter of James and Mabel (DeRoin) Love. She attended the one-room schoolhouse in Jackson, then worked as a mother’s helper before her marriage.
Irene married Malvin "Mac" Harris on Sept. 9, 1950, and was a stay-at-home mom until 1970, when she started her career at IBP. She retired in 1992.
Irene loved her family, country music, gardening, and working wordsearch puzzles.
She is survived by her three children, Linda Jump, Steven (Cindy) Harris, and Tim (Cindy) Harris, all of Homer; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Irene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Malvin W. Harris; her parents; two sisters; two brothers; one great-grandson; and two great-great-grandchildren.
