Robert A. "Bob" Wilson, 55, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at a Sioux City hospital following a long illness.

Bob was born on Jan. 4, 1963, in Fort Benning, Ga., the son of Charles and Ellen (Shelton) Wilson. Bob grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools. He graduated from East High School in 1981 and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Bob was honorably discharged in 1987.
On Jan. 1, 1987, Bob married Lori Troth. He married Debra Trapp on Sept. 9, 1998, in Las Vegas, Nev.
Bob worked for Brower Construction from 1988 to 1992, for Container Corp. from 1992 to 1996, for Crown Lincoln Mercury from 1996 to 2000, for Barkley Asphalt from 2000 to 2005, and for Smurfit-Stone from 2005 to 2009. He then worked for a railroad contracting company until he retired in 2016 due to ill health.
Survivors include his wife, Debra of Sioux City; his children, Reese Wilson and his fiancee, Kaitlyn of Tea, S.D., Krystle Shook (Shane) of Sergeant Bluff, Alexander Smith (Keri) of Washta, Iowa, and Jessica Gehrke (Craig) of Milford, Iowa; his father, Charles (Carol) Wilson of Phoenix, Ariz.; three brothers, Adam Wilson (Claire) of Sioux City, Brett Wilson (Tina) of Battle Creek, Iowa, and Mark Wilson of Cherokee, Iowa; and five grandchildren, Charity Muller, Paige Gehrke, Emorie Wagner, Aubryn Wagner and Oliver Shook.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen; a daughter, Ashley Wilson; and his grandparents.
