Sally J. Johnson, 74, of Sioux City, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at her residence.
Per her wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no services. Private family burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.
Sally was born on July 25, 1944, in Sioux City, to Neil "Bud" and Marie (Lentz) Breaman. She attended Catholic schools while growing up. When Sally was younger, she worked at the convent at St. Joseph Parish, helping the nuns with daily activities and housekeeping.
Sally was united in marriage to Roy Johnson on July 28, 1962 in Sioux City. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2004. They enjoyed gambling in North Sioux City, the Riverboat and traveling to various casinos in Deadwood, S.D.
She was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Sally loved working in her yard and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her son, Tom Johnson and his sons, Justin Johnson of Lincoln, Neb., and his children, Lilly and Emmett Johnson, and Brandon Johnson of Sioux City; son, Mike and Brenda Johnson, of Sioux City, and their son, Joshua Johnson of Illinois; stepgrandchildren, Angie Merrill of Goldfield, Iowa, and her children, Beau and Tunney Merrill of Sioux City, Chad and Ashley Peterson and their children, David and Danyka of Sioux City, and Tanner Peterson of Sioux City; and brothers, John (Leona) Breaman of Ida Grove, Iowa, Joe (Romayne) Breaman of Irma, Wis., Jim (Connie) Breaman, South Sioux City, and Jeff Breaman, Sioux City.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Jerry Breaman; and sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Arthur "Dan" Detches.
