SIOUX CITY | A 28-year-old man is accused of dragging a woman 15 feet while she held on to her purse during an attempted robbery last summer.

Court documents say she broke two fingers on her left hand and suffered abrasions on both knees and her left shoulder.

Jonathon Consolver was arrested Friday for second-degree robbery for the events that happened on July 22.

Shortly after 1 p.m. court documents state Consolver walked aggressively towards the woman standing by her vehicle in the parking lot of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino-- Sioux City.

Assuming he wanted to go past her, the woman said "excuse me" and stepped closer to the car with her purse in her left hand.

Consolver then allegedly grabbed the purse and the woman held onto to it "steadfastly" and drug her 15 feet towards a U-Haul pickup truck he arrived in, the documents said.

He was unsuccessful stealing the purse and ultimately let go. He then ran across Third Street, jumped into the truck and fled.

The woman suffered two broken fingers on her left hand and suffered abrasions on both knees and left shoulder when she was dragged.

Consolver was later identified by surveillance recordings when he was in the casino a few hours prior to the robbery, the documents said.

He was booked in the Woodbury County Jail Friday on $15,000 bond. The documents did not say what town he resides in, but his custody is being held for the state of Nebraska.
