SIOUX CITY | The name of the man who died in a Saturday night stabbing has been released.

The Sioux City Police Department said James R.D. Purcell, 21, of Sioux City, was stabbed near 420 17th St. Police were dispatched to the area at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, following a report of a physical disturbance that involved a large group of people.

Investigators said Purcell later died of his injuries.
