Tell the Senate "no" to the health care bill. Email, call, or post however you can. In the House, King, Noem, Smith and Fortenberry voted "yes" as they folded to party lines.
The only demographic that has a victory is the wealthy. Insurers could charge five times the amount for older citizens. Pre-existing conditions are now a concern (look it up; it can include cancer as well as acne, the list goes on and on). States can apply for waivers to eliminate essential health benefits, i.e. maternity care, prescription drugs. If you have employer-based insurance, beware. They could offer annual and lifetime benefit limits which are currently banned. This could adversely affect 24 million people. A big reason we have companies bailing out now is because of the uncertainty this repeal has inserted into the situation.
America is the greatest country in the world and when we stand together, nothing can stop us. This is a feather in a cap, a wooden nickel, to show a tacit nod to promise without the hard work for what we need in this country. Tell them "no." Tell them if they truly want to repeal and replace, we need to have a better replacement ready to go. Health care for all, that's what we need. At some point we all get sick, get hurt, get old and die. We have the ability to work together, but that is the whole house, the whole country united in purpose. - Mel Lynn, Sioux City
