2018 Tulip Queen Juliana Tien

Juliana Tien was crowned the 2018 Tulip Festival Queen in November. She's a senior at Unity Christian in Orange City, Iowa, and plans to attend Dordt College to study nursing.

ORANGE CITY, Iowa | Juliana Tien was crowned the 2018 Tulip Festival Queen Monday.

Tien, the daughter of Gale and Cathie Tien and a senior at Unity Christian High School in Orange City, will reign over the 78th annual Tulip Festival May 17-19.

Tien was crowned queen at the conclusion of a pageant in which each of the candidates answered questions on various topics and gave an individual presentation. The candidates had earlier interviewed with a three-judge panel.

The rest of the 2018 Tulip Court includes Alexa Arends, daughter of Troy and Darla Arends; Josie Maasdam, daughter of Kirk and Becky Maasdam; Haley Smit, daughter of Jason and Kara Smit; and Corinne Wiese, daughter of Robert and Tricia Wiese.
