RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — More than 60 soldiers from the South Dakota Army National Guard have been deployed to Iraq for a one-year mission.

The soldiers are members of the 139th Brigade Support Battalion. They departed Fort Hood, Texas, on Wednesday, where they had been undergoing training for the mission since June.

The soldiers will provide logistical support to U.S. special operations forces as part of Operation New Dawn.
