SIOUX CITY | A teenager died after the car he was driving rolled over and struck a utility pole near Leonard Street and Villa Avenue Saturday night.

Four passengers -- two boys and two girls between the ages of 14 and 16 -- suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, Rodney Feller, 14, of Sioux City, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sioux City police responded to the accident at about 9:40 p.m. after Feller lost control of the Pontiac Grand Am while going west on Villa Avenue, rolling the vehicle before it struck the pole while upside down.

The names of those injured have not been released, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

A witness at the scene, Kollin Jones, lives nearby. He sees cars constantly speed down the steep hill.

“It’s really dangerous; I wish they had put in speed bumps or something before this happened,” Jones said.

An outpouring of condolences for friends and family of Feller came from social media. Feller was a student at West High School.
