SIOUX CITY -- A 19-year-old Sioux City man was listed in critical condition one day after police say he jumped out a fourth-floor window to avoid arrest.
A hospital official said Dudley Blackbird, 19, was listed tonight in critical condition at Mercy Medical Center -- Sioux City.
Authorities say Blackbird jumped out a window of his residence at the Argonaut apartments, where police responded Friday evening to a disturbance between Blackbird and Blaine Lyons, 45, in apartment 28.
Police say officers were out in the hallway when Blackbird, who had several Nebraska warrants for his arrest, climbed out the window and jumped.
Blackbird fell feet-first onto an air conditioner in a second-floor window, officers say, then fell forward and landed face-first onto the pavement below.
Police said Blackbird suffered multiple broken bones, including what appeared to be a broken femur, pelvis and fingers.
