STORM LAKE, Iowa | Jasmine Demers made a layup with 11 seconds left to give Buena Vista a 56-55 lead, and McKenna Whitehill stole Dubuque's final possession and added another bucket as time expired to give the Beaves a 58-55 win on Wednesday.

Demers led the way for BVU with 14 points and nine rebounds while Morgan Muhlbauer added 13 points.

Dubuque was paced by Allison Roach's 17 points and Morgan Boer added 14.

Buena Vista hit eight 3-pointers and as the Beavers won despite being outscored 14-5 in the first quarter. Buena Vista finished strong outscoring Dubuque 58-55.

The Beaves are now 12-11 overall and 7-7 in the IIAC while Dubuque is 5-17 and 3-10.
