KANSAS CITY -- The pairings are set for the 2018 Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship to be played March 7-10 in Kansas City’s Sprint Center.
Kansas earned the regular season title and will enter the Championship as the No. 1 seed, its 18th outright or shared crown in 22 seasons. The Jayhawks have won 14 consecutive and 61 overall conference titles, both NCAA records.
Texas Tech earned the No. 2 seed, its highest in Big 12 history, while West Virginia checked in with the No. 3 seed. No. 4 Kansas State is next, followed by No. 5 TCU and No. 6 Baylor. The top six seeds earn first-round byes and will begin play on Thursday.
First-round games will be contested on Wednesday with No. 8 Oklahoma State facing No. 9 Oklahoma and No. 7 Texas taking on No. 10 Iowa State.
