MITCHELL, S.D. | Trae Vandeberg scored 22 points and Ty Hoglund added 19 while leading 20th-ranked Dakota Wesleyan to an 85-75 Great Plains Athletic Conference win over No. 10 Morningside Wednesday night at the Corn Palace.
Combined, Vandeberg and Hoglund made eight of the Tigers’ 12 3-point baskets. Dakota Wesleyan (15-5, 5-3 GPAC) rallied from a 33-30 halftime deficit to shoot 66.7 percent in the second half.

Three Mustangs each recorded 16 points and six rebounds – Tyler Borchers, Brody Egger and Zach Imig. Coach Jim Sykes’ squad shot 51.9 percent in the first half and 50 percent in the second half, but were outscored 7-0 in the first 2 ½ minutes of the second half and from there, never led again.
Alex Borchers and Pierce Almond each added 11 points for Morningside (12-4, 4-2 GPAC), which will play at Concordia Saturday.
