VERMILLION, S.D. | South Dakota men’s basketball coach Todd Lee has welcomed 6-foot-9 forward to the squad.

Harvey is a graduate transfer for Florida International with one season of NCAA eligibility remaining, After completing his degree in liberal studies from FIU, Harvey will pursue a master’s degree in sport management at USD.

Harvey started 12 of 30 games this past season at Florida International, playing 16 minutes per game. He totaled 92 rebounds and 55 points, which included career-best nine rebounds at Charlotte on March 1. Facing Florida Atlantic on Feb. 17, he scored a career-high eight points while grabbing seven offensive rebounds.

The Chicago native has played just five years of organized basketball, beginning with his senior season at T.F. North High School in Calumet City, Ill. He attended Shawnee Community College in Ullin, Ill., for two seasons, averaging four rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game.

Harvey missed the 2016-17 season at Florida International due to injury. He joins a USD recruiting class that includes Matthew Johns, Simeon Jovic and Cody Kelley and will begin summer workouts immediately.
