CRETE, Neb. – The Morningside College men’s golf team scored an impressive 11-stroke victory in the Doane Spring Invite, which concluded Saturday at College Heights Country Club here.

Each of the five Mustang counters finished in the top eight individually, while three more only competing individually tied for 10th. The first round was played at Wilderness Ridge in Lincoln on Friday.

Morningside shot 288-308—596 to best host Doane (301-306—607) for the team title. Dordt was third at 311-324—635 and Briar Cliff fourth with 324-322—646.

The Mustangs’ Jonathan Douglas finished runner-up overall, shooting 3-over-par 146. Teammate Cody Holck (150) tied for fourth, while Dan Bone (152) and Corey Matthey (152) tied for sixth and Xan Milligan (155) tied for eighth.

Tyler Danke, Tanner Haeberle and Connor Prescott, each competing as individuals, carded 156 and tied for 10th.

Doane’s Roger Sack fired a 1-under 142 (70-72) to claim medalist honors.

Ryan Feauto of Dordt tied for 10th with 156. Briar Cliff was paced by Raul Perez, who shot 159 and tied for 16th.
