SIOUX CITY -- The Sioux City Stampede earned the top seed for the Northern Elite Football League playoffs.

The Stampede, who finished with a league-best 7-1 record, and Minneapolis earned first-round byes.

Sioux City will not be in action until Aug. 4 when it will host the winner of Fox Valley and Fargo, the four and five seed, respectively. That game is set for Saturday in Fargo.

Northland and St. Paul will play in the other contest on Saturday in St. Paul, Minnesota with the winner playing Minneapolis.
