Doane (1-0) at Dordt (1-0)
When/Where: 1 p.m., Sioux Center
Briefly: Dordt pulled away from Waldorf in the second half to win two weeks ago after leading just 34-33 at halftime. Iowa transfer Noah Clayberg ran the ball 11 times for 63 yards and had three receptions for 91 yards. All three catches went for touchdowns with quarterback Brock Lamle throwing for 302 yards and five touchdowns. Sophomore wide receiver Levi Jungling had four receptions for 137 yards and a score.
Doane beat Friends University 57-3 on Aug. 25 and was off last week. Dordt upset the Tigers 21-16 last year. Doane quarterback Jack Kalina threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns and Garrett Sonderup had 48 yards rushing and a touchdown against Friends. The Tigers did get four interceptions from its defense.
Midland (2-0) at Northwestern (2-0)
When/Where: 1 p.m., Orange City
Briefly: No. 5 Northwestern opened GPAC play by handling Jamestown 49-7 on the road a week ago. Running back Jacob Kalogonis is averaging 109 yards rushing per game. Bryce Van Beek, the NAIA leader in interceptions a year ago had three against the Jimmies.
No. 24 Midland has put up 49 and 56 points in easily defeating MidAmerica Nazarene and Mayville State to open the season. Quarterback Payton Nelson is off to a strong start having thrown for 550 yards, seven touchdowns and just one interception. The Warriors also spread the ball around in their backfield with four running backs all getting at least 11 carries through two games and three of them having more than 100 yards.
Buena Vista (1-1) at Wartburg (1-1)
When/Where: 1 p.m., Waverly, Iowa
Briefly: The Beavers are coming off a 27-20 loss to GPAC member Concordia on Saturday. Sophomore Eric Pacheco has been a big playmaker for the Beavers, He had a 63 yard punt return for a touchdown and a 63-yard TD reception against the Bulldogs. Through two game he has 13 receptions for 439 yards and five touchdowns. He is averaging 33.8 yards per reception. Former Newell-Fonda standout Reed Kurse and Sergeant Bluff-Luton grad Colby Laughlin lead the Beaver defense with 27 and 22 tackles, respectively.
No. 13 Wartburg is coming off a 24-18 loss to Monmouth College in Illinois. Senior quarterback Matt Sacia threw for 252 yards. He has now finished with triple-digit passing yards in 21-straight games and in 23 of his last 24, which dates back to the 2016 season. Wartburg has not lost to the Beavers since 2008.
Augustana (1-1) at Wayne State (1-1)
When/Where: 6 p.m., Wayne, Neb.
Briefly: The Wildcats are coming off a 23-14 road win over Southwest Minnesota State. The Wildcats overcame five turnovers and held the Mustangs to 142 total yards. Wayne State running back Marlon Warren is averaging 103 yards a game, quarterback Aaron Bleil has thrown for 646 yards and seven touchdowns with four of those going to Nate Rogers, the school's all-time leader.
Augustana is coming off a 38-36 loss to third-ranked Minnesota State on a failed two-point conversion attempt. Quarterback Kyle Saddler threw for 451 yards and three touchdowns and defensive back Michael Kloza has three interceptions on the season.
