SIOUX CITY – Fort Dodge scored early and often as the Dodgers cruised to a 68-13 win over Sioux City West here Friday.
Dayson Clayton scored three touchdowns in the first quarter as Fort Dodge led 34-0 after one period and 54-0 at halftime. Drake Miller threw four touchdown passes and ran for another.
The Dodgers (6-2) scored touchdowns on all but one drive in the first half. West’s Conner Beyer intercepted a Fort Dodge pass in the in end zone midway through the first quarter for the lone defensive stop for the Wolverines.
Emanuel Tameklo scored on a pair of touchdown runs for West (2-6) in the second half. West played without starting quarterback Adien Belt who was injured in last week's game against Southeast Polk.
West concludes its season next week with a game at No. 2 Ankeny Centennial.
