NEWTON, Iowa -- Harris-Lake Park finished as the Class 1A State Golf Championship runner-up shooting 687 over the two-day event at Westwood Golf Club on Friday.
The Wolves entered the final day leading the event after shooting 345 on Thursday. H-LP shot better on Friday recording a 342, however, Grundy Center turned in a 327 as a team to finish with a 683 to claim the title. Westwood finished in a tie for fifth place with a 705.
Westwood senior Elijah Lamoreaux was the highest Siouxland individual finisher taking sixth as he shot 80-79--159. Samuel Miller had a 172, Eddie Dandurand had a 186, Jacob Miller and Carter Copple both shot 190 and Jaxon Lutt added a 217.
Harris-Lake Park freshman Lucas Gunderson tied for seventh going 83-78--161. H-LP also got a 172 from Isaac Ihnen, Bryce Perkins fired a 175, Adrian Martin shot 179, Jaxson Heikens had a 191 and Bret Sohn shot 193.
Remsen St. Mary's Spencer Schorg tied for 20th with a 173 and Boyden-Hull's Keaton Van Roekel carded a 176 for 25th place.
East Buchanan's Jacob Hesner was the medalist as he shot 73-74--147 for a one-stroke victory over Winfield-Mt. Union's Kaleb Hagge.
Spencer finished fourth at the Class 3A State Golf Championship at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge on Friday. The Tigers shot 637 taking 23 strokes off their score from the first day to record the low team score on Friday. Central DeWitt was the champion with a 609.

Spencer was led by junior Ezra Meyer who shot 78-72--150 to take sixth place. Connor Moret shot 160, Chase Hough recorded a 162, Michael Storey recorded a 165, Nick McDermott had a 172 and Colin Slattery added a 173.
Grinnell's Lucas Scherf shot 2-under 70 on the final day to earn medalist honors by four strokes with a 142.
Estherville Lincoln Central finished fifth at the Class 2A State Golf Championship at American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown on Friday. Carroll Kuemper won the team title with a 604 while ELC had a 635.
Sheldon senior Tyler Merley finished fifth going 72-76 over the two days for a 148. Unity Christian senior Ryan Fedders tied for 30th with a 161.
Estherville Lincoln Central's Hunter Wheatley led the way for his team tying for 16th place with a 154. Trey Jacobson had a 155, Izaak Sander and Jacob Bosch carded 164, Collin Wodtke had a 168 and Blake Miller shot 169.
Dike-New Hartford's Bo Weissenfluh was the medalist shooting 72-72--144 to win by one stroke.
