ATLANTIC, Iowa -- Woodbury Central finished second at the Atlantic regional to qualify for next week's state meet at the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown May 29-30, shooting a 424 while Griswold won with a 387.

Woodbury Central's Sally Gallagher was the medalist with an 82 to lead the way. Teammates Sidnie Graff had a 107, Hanna Stratton shot 117 and Megan Warren carded a 118 for the Wildcats

At Rolling Hills Country Club in Hull, Akron-Westfield and Hitnon finsihed first and second, 365-413.

Akron-Westfield's Brooke Koele was the medalist with an 82, the Westerners' Autumn Bundy shot 92, Alayna Mullinix had a 94 and Danika Smith shot 97.

Sioux Central's Whitney Anderson advanced with a 90 as did Remsen St. Mary's Tori Galles with a 96 and South O'Brien's Rachel Sohn recorded a 100.

Class 2A

Alta-Aurelia and Unity Christian shot 353 and 358, respectivley, at Willow Vale Golf Coure in Mapleton to advance to the Class 2A state tournament at Coldwater Links in Ames May 29-30.

Defending state champion Annika Patton of Alta-Aurelia was the medalist with a 73 and teammate Erin Lockin shot an 86 to finish fifth. The Knights were paced by Kate Fessler and Justine Malenke who both had rounds of 85 while teammate Chloe Krommendyk had a 93.

MVAOCOU's Sydney Fundermann also advanced with a 94.

Okoboji finished second the regional at Garner Country Club to New Hampton 339-357.

Okoboji was led by Hannah Butler's 77 and Grace Butler added an 85.

Class 3A

MOC-Floyd Valley finished one stoke behind Carroll with a 375 to qualify for the state golf meet at Willow Creek Golf Course in Le Mars.

Spirit Lake's Marisa Weeks was the medalist with a 74, the Dutch's Jaden Zenor shot an 86 and teammate Zlexa Arends fired a 91 to advance to Coldwater Links in Ames May 29-30.

Class 4A

West Des Moines Valley and Waukee qualified for the state tournament with scores of 324 and 327, respectively. Sioux City East finished third with a 409. No Sioux City metro players qualified for the state meet.


Sioux Falls Christian won the Dakota XII Conference Golf Meet on Monday by three strokes over Madison, 369-372. Elk Point-Jefferson took sixth (398), Vermillion was seventh (428) and Dakota Valley was 10th (574).

Elk Point-Jefferson's Aubrie Franken and Sydney Bousquet both shot rounds of 96 while Sophie Johnson had a 99. Emily Henze had a 107 and Elise King shot 115.

Vermillion's Alex Carr recorded an 86, Kara Mulheron had an 89, Megan Brandy recorded a 114, Kaliyah Beacom shot 136 and Mackenzie Brady added a 139.

Dakota Valley was paced by Ryley Meyer who shot 118. Bailey Sample recorded a 136, Lexi Squier had a 152 and Deena Riley added a 168.

Sioux Falls Christian's Kate Wynja was the medalist with an 80.
