COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -- After falling behind 3-0 at halftime, Sergeant Bluff-Luton had a spirited comeback that fell just short, 4-2, to Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln on Monday.
Brooklyn Huberty got the Warriors on the board less than two minutes into the second half off an assist from Abby Wisecup, and Jordan Trover pulled SB-L within one with 28 minutes to go in the game. The helper on Trover's goal wine to Riley McHugh-Hoskins.
It would remain a one-goal game until the six minute mark when CBAL added the insurance tally.
The Warriors had a couple of good looks to tie the score but couldn't get the ball in the back of the net. Jenna Ryan made seven saves for the Warriors.
Sergeant Bluff-Luton is now 1-2 on the season and hosts Unity Christian on Thursday.
