SIOUX CITY --  Missouri River Conference softball champion Bishop Heelan and Class 4A state tournament qualifier Sergeant Bluff-Luton garnered five first-team members each on the league's all-conference team.

Riley Plantgenberg of Heelan and Bradee Bouman of SB-L were named to the first-team pitchers on the unit while their catchers, Aubrey Wolf and Madelyn Mogensen complete the first-team backstop.

Plantenburg, a junior, had a 20-11 record to lead all MRAC pitchers and had a 1.58 earned run average in 190.2 innings work. Plantenburg was injured late in the season and missed the Crusaders' first-round regional loss to Le Mars.

Bouman, a senior, was named to the first team for the third time. The granddaughter of SB-L coach Tom Prince and daughter of assistant coach Melanie Prince, finished the year with a 16-10 record and a 2.43 ERA. Bouman ended her prep career with a 52-18 mark.

Wolf, a senior who was honored for the fourth time, paced the MRAC in batting with a .471 average in all game while driving in 32 runs. Mogensen was second in overall batting among loop players hitting .439 with 26 runs driven in.

Sophomore Chloe Black (utility, .338 avg.), senior Emma Christensen (infield .391, 30 RBI) and junior Kenzie Foley (infield, .356, 30 RBI) also were named to the first team for SB-L.

Bishop Heelan had half of the four MRAC outfield slots with seniors Ellie Cropley (.385, 20 RBI) and Emma LaFleur (.250, 10 RBI) joining East's Abby Alter (.307, 14 RBI) and CBAL's Cailey Schaa.

Senior Caitlyn Lawler of Heelan (.248, 15 RBI) joined East senior Taylor Ohlfest (.323, 16 RBI) on the infield along with North's Kylee Eickholt (jr., .323, 20 RBI).
