SIOUX CITY -- The No. 9 (4A) Bishop Heelan volleyball team swept Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson 25-20, 25-10, 25-11 in a Missouri River Activities Conference match on Tuesday in Sioux City.

Nicole Jacobson finished with 14 kills and 10 digs for Heelan (6-3). Emma LaFleur dished out 11 assists and added nine kills. Riley Tew notched eight kills. Jordan Knapp dished out 15 assists. Taylor Wilshire logged 15 digs and Mary Kate Fitzsimmons registered nine.

Thomas Jefferson falls to 6-8.

HINTON 3, CLAY CENTRAL-EVERLY 0: The Hinton volleyball team swept Clay Central-Everly 25-12, 25-20, 26-24 in a War Eagle Conference match on Tuesday in Hinton.

Aspen Coffee recorded 10 kills for Hinton (5-4). Shelbie Young dished out 28 assists and Alyssa Fischer notched 20 digs.

Clay Central-Everly drops to 3-5.

GEHLEN CATHOLIC 3, HARRIS-LAKE PARK 0: The No. 2 (1A) Gehlen Catholic volleyball team swept Harris-Lake Park 25-10, 25-7, 25-16 in a War Eagle Conference match on Tuesday in Lake Park.

Taylor Meyer finished with five kills and seven digs for Harris-Lake Park (5-5). Tessa Gunderson notched 10 digs.

Gehlen Catholic improves to 10-2.

South Dakota

DAKOTA VALLEY 3, YANTON 1: The Class A fifth-ranked Dakota Valley Panthers downed Yankton 25-16, 25-17, 18-25, 25-19 on Tuesday.

Sophia Atchison had 14 kills for the Panthers, Rachel Rosenquist had 12 and Natalie Steffen had four kills, 10 digs and five aces. Ally Beresford dished out 43 assists, Rachel Wente had seven kills, seven digs and three aces and Jensyn Younger had 12 digs.

Dakota Valley is now 7-3.

MADISON 3, VERMILLION 0: Sophia Vanden Bosch had 14 kills and Morgan Anderson 16 digs to lead the hosts Bulldogs to a 25-22, 25-15, 25-20 sweep to the Tanagers in a match held Tuesday.

Toria Andre had eight kills to pace Vermillion (2-8). Madison improved to 4-3 in matches.
