JACKSON, Minn. | The West Sioux wrestling team placed fifth and crowned a pair of champions at the Jackson County Central Invitational here Saturday.
The Falcons tallied 117 points and crowned both Adam Allard (113) and Kory Van Oort (145) as champions.
Allard, the defending state champion, pinned Sean Heeney of Sioux City East in the championship match. Van Oort won a 4-3 decision over Alex Borsgard of Windom/Mt. Lake in the title match.
Dillon Lynot (120) placed second for West Sioux. Lynot was pinned by Brett Willaby of Windom/Mt. Lake in the championship match. Kyler Bak (220) finished third after pinning Jackson Esping of Minnesota in the third-place match. Brandon Schuller (152) placed fourth after dropping a 7-6 decision to Mason Schoenhard of Harrisburg in the third-place match.
East finished 10th with a score of 68 points. Heeney (113) placed second for the Black Raiders after falling to Allard in the title match. Angel Morales (138) finished third after pinning Max Johnson of Harrisburg in the third-place match. Alex Kleider (145) and Patrick Conley (285) both placed sixth in their respective weight classes.
Harrisburg won with 205 points and crowned three champions.
