OMAHA | Levi Kleiboer’s goal, two minutes and 10 seconds into overtime, gave the Sioux City Musketeers a 4-3 win over the Tri-City Storm during a United States Hockey League preseason exhibition game Saturday afternoon at Ralston Arena.
Parker Ford recorded the last of his two assists on the game-winner from Kleiboer, who came to the Musketeers in an off-season trade from the Chicago Steel. Kleiboer is a University of Maine commit who recorded 10 goals and 32 assists last season for the Saskatchewan Hockey League’s Battlefords North Stars.
During a contest that featured a tie and two lead changes, Finland native Marcus Kallionkieli contributed a goal and an assist for Coach Luke Strand’s Musketeers. Bobby Brink also recorded a goal and an assist while winning goaltender Ben Kraws collected 29 saves.
Brink took part in both goals as Sioux City jumped off to a 2-0 lead, each of the red-lighters coming on the power play. Brink and Ford assisted on Kallionkieli’s first-period goal, while Kallionkieli and Martin Pospisil assisted on the goal with 29 seconds remaining in the second period.
Brad Morrissey had a goal and an assist in Tri-City’s three-goal third period. His goal with 6:19 remaining in regulation gave the Storm a 3-2 lead, but Ian Malcolmson’s goal with 1:37 left forced the tie.

The Musketeers will then have two more preseason games next week, playing Sioux Falls at 6:30 Tuesday night at the All Seasons Center in Sioux Center, Iowa. Then at 4:05 Saturday afternoon, the Musketeers will play the Des Moines Buccaneers at the IBP Ice Center.
