DUBUQUE, Iowa | Sioux City's Parker Ford scored his first goal of the season with 2:21 left in regulation to break a scoreless tie with Dubuque and the Musketeers went on to snap a four-game losing skid 2-0 at Mystique Ice Arena Saturday evening.
Micah Miller tacked on an empty-net goal in the final minute to lock up the win for Sioux City, which avenged a 6-5 loss to Dubuque here last Saturday.
Musketeers goalie Ben Kraws, a Miami University commit, had a sparkling night in net earning the shutout while turning away 25 Saints shots. It was Kraws' first win in net this season against two losses.
Samuel Salonen and Mathieu De St. Phalle had assists on the winning goal. Miller, who scored with 21 seconds left, got his fourth of the year.
Dubuque had a 27-20 edge in shots and failed to score in its lone power play opportunity. The Saints, who entered the night in third place in the Eastern Conference, dropped to 8-6-3.
Sioux City (5-9-3) also had just two power plays and converted on neither after scoring twice on man advantages in a 3-2 loss to Central Illinois Friday.
Sioux City plays at Des Moines next Friday before returning to the Tyson Events Center Saturday hosting Omaha
