SIOUX CITY — The Sioux City Musketeers, along with the United States Hockey League and its member teams, have released the 2018-19 regular season schedule.
The Musketeers will open up the season on the road when they take on the Green Bay Gamblers in a one-game series on October 5. Sioux City will then play three additional road games, including a back-to-back set against the defending Clark Cup Champions the Fargo Force, before making their debut at the Tyson Events Center on Oct. 20 against the Waterloo Black Hawks.
The regular season will also now consists of 62 regular season games, with the additional two games being played during the annual USHL Fall Classic in Pittsburgh. Musketeer fans will still get to see their team play 30 games at home, and the other 30 will be on the road. January will once again be a month spent on the road for the Musketeers with seven consecutive road games to start the month before finishing with two games at home.
It also appears a new rivalry could be brewing this year between the Musketeers and the Force with the teams meeting 10 times throughout the season, five games in Fargo and five games in Sioux City.
This year’s schedule will also feature a much larger number of weekday games than Musketeer fans might be accustomed to with nine games played between Monday and Thursday (not including the annual New Year’s Eve game).
