Lincoln, which is idle tonight, has dropped four straight ... Musketeers scoring leader Sampo Ranta (5 goals, 1 assist) is a goal away from equaling last year’s goal total ... Ranta, who scored the lone goal in a 4-1 loss to Waterloo on Oct. 13 at the Tyson, has had a point in each of the Musketeers’ three power-play goals, providing two goals and an assist ... Micah Miller (2 assists) had two goals and three assists against Waterloo last season ... Team captain Brady Ferner (1 assist) picked up the 15th assist of his three-year career on Ranta’s goal that forced a 2-2 tie last Saturday against Tri-City ... Cole Koepke (2 goals) is the Musketeers’ only other skater with multiple goals ... Mathieu De St. Phalle has scored each of his points (1, 1) on the power play ... Rookie Samuel Salonen, the squad’s preseason scoring leader with five goals, has yet to tally a point while taking 15 shots, the third most on the team behind Ranta (28) and Koepke (26) ... Goaltender Matt Jurusik (2-3-1, 2.46 GAA) is the league’s only player at his position to appear in two shootouts, posting a 1-1 record.


Waterloo was outscored 13-3 while losing three games last weekend, including consecutive 5-1 losses at Young Arena to Madison and 5-1 at Central Illinois ... Scoring leader Jackson Cates (3 goals, 3 assists) scored a goal in Friday’s 3-1 home loss to Fargo and added a goal the next night against Madison ... Ethan Johnson (2, 4) scored a goal and dished two assists in the 4-1 win at Sioux City ... Dylan Mills (2 goals) and Hank Sorensen (1, 1) scored power-play goals in the win over the Musketeers ... Jared Moe (2-2) ranks third among USHL goaltenders with a 1.78 goals-against-average ... Matej Tomek also has a 2-2 goalie mark with a 2.56 GAA.


Lincoln began its season with three straight wins, but has been outscored 18-6 while losing four in a row ... Josiah Slavin (1 goal, 3 assists) gave the Stars a 3-1 lead in last Saturday’s home game on a goal at the 4:45 mark of the third period, but defending Clark Cup champion Chicago scored four unanswered goals in the final 10 ½ minutes to win, 5-3 ... Gustav Westlund (3, 2) had two assists in the loss to the Steel ... Lincoln scoring leader Devlin McCabe (2, 5) ranks third among USHL rookies with seven points ...
