JEFFERSON, S.D. -- It is going to be a tense night of racing at Park Jefferson Speedway on Saturday.
Point spreads across all six IMCA weekly racing classes remain within five points between first and second. Since no championship is clinched for any class, drivers will be giving it all they have to claim the coveted championship title for their class.
Joining that action is the Mod Lites in its first appearance at Park Jefferson this season. The IMCA Sprint Cars are off for the night for the Knoxville Nationals.
In addition to the great racing in store for season championship night, there will also be hosting a meet and greet with the drivers. Starting at 4:30 p.m., fans will get a chance to meet the driver inside the machine of some of their favorite local racers. There will also be a couple dunk tanks on hand where kids and adults can test out their arm.
There is also young fan ride along event after hot laps where the hobby stock and stock cars will take young fans along for a lap around the track to experience what the racers feel every week. Some of the locals favorite racers throw out some candy in a candy toss at intermission.
Park Jeff is also giving away four backpacks full of supplies, as well as a boys' and a girls' bike away in a drawing.
Throughout the night there will be multiple giveaways of merchandise, race night tickets and concessionstand coupons for adult fans.
The meet and greet event is free to attend. Gates open at 5 p.m. and hot laps begin at 6:20 p.m. with racing to follow. Ticket prices are $12 for adults, seniors 70 and over are $5, children 6-16 are $2 and children 5 and under are free.
